Friday:
Got lots of things ready for the coming two days.
Had my first Pirates of Penzance rehearsal - it was fun.
What wasn't so fun was that I was late; I forgot to factor in transport time, so I left home at 3:30 for a 4o'clock rehearsal with lots of things to do beforehand at Broadway:
  • pick up alcohol for the night

  • pick up a birthday card for the night

  • write on birthday card

  • eat

  • get stamps

  • mail out stuff I shoudl have mailed out days beforehand

  • get back to uni

Rehearsal had started and I had been walking around with heavy bags of clothes and crap and alcohol (and I don't walk; I powerwalk. Always), so I was out of breath and sweaty.
Went to Redfern Station to go to Heathcote for the night and Work Amy's 23rd - the theme was 80s
Wrote on the card on the way
Arrived, changed, got smashed, photos were taken (one particularly horrid photo at the punchbowl) and may have been dominated by a woman with a slapper
Slept before anyone else, though I kept being tucked in despite the heat and could not sleep (everyone else went to bed hours later)

Saturday:
Woke up in hells of pain - I'd chosen the most angular couch in existance and had been holding myself in half fetal position all night. Cramps; ow.
Left without eating breakfast, and trained it home alone because Kelly decided to stay a while longer.
Track work; fuck.
Two hours later, I arrive home, shower, swap bags and leave.
Have not yet eaten because there is no lunchable foodstuffs to eat in less than five minutes.
Arrive at second rehearsal carrying cocktail wears and a second bag.
Physical excersion+ at this rehearsal - musicaling makes you fit.
After rehearsal I meet Cyn outside and get changed in Education Building after she charms the front desk guy to let us into the closed building.
Walk to Refern to train it to Penshurst. Get food on the way.
Penhurst RSL for [livejournal.com profile] frozen_icehart's 21st.
Am the object of Mistaken Identity thrice:
  • For: Frozen. By: Bartender.

  • For: Frozen. By: Uncle/family friend, wishing me a good night as he leaves.

  • For: Nathan? By: The Fruit That Starts With L. (Apparently they went to school together.)

Speeches are awesome, and Frozen's family is pretty damn cool (especially his sister).
Cyn and I leave together because that's how we roll.
Transport home is delayed. Heavily. Like, by nearly an hour. But I still get home earlier than I would have had I gotten a train to Ashfield.

Had a good two days, if exhausting. Showed the teeth off to just about everyone; just about everyone was highly impressed (Tim had no idea what was going on... I don't think he'd ever noticed the braces before.) And, oddly, there were no real dramas to gossip about.

Sunday:
deleted due to attack of the borings

Today:
just got home from the Ortho. I now have my retainer. It's one of those clear mouth-guardy type ones. It doesn't quite fit because of the gap between Wednesday's getting the bracese off and retainer fitting, and today's giving of the retainer, but it's supposed to be good in the next couple of days. I go back for my first retainer checkup on the 12th of Jan.

And, finally:

01. My uncle once: tried to open a Telstra franchise store (that's the equivalent name. They're actually called licensed stores, I think). Telstra was mean and denied him.

02. Never in my life: have I done a good many things that others have. There are movies I haven't watched, books I haven't read, music I haven't heard of, and rides I haven't been on that make me feel like I'm missing out on huge chunks of Life whenever other people ask "Oh, have you X[past tense suffix thingy] Y?" There are also a good many places I haven't been to (i.e. anywhere outside of Australia, or even beyond the path between Sydney and Brisbane really), and a good many things I just haven't done that, if I were a Real Boy with Real Life Experiences I would have done by now.

03. When I was five: I was in Kindy. I saw a girl in my class wet her pants and, instead of laughing like everyone else, I felt really sad for her. I didn't pity her exactly (I don't think I was old enough to be *able* to pity anyone), it was more like I was embarrassed for her, but in a sad way. I dunno.

04. High school was: not the best time of my life, but, oddly enough, not the worst. I think primary school was worse because I didn't play with the boys, and I didn't get invited to parties, and all that crap that kids do to anyone different from themselves who isn't different in an OMG I WANNA BE JUST LIKE YOU way. High school might not have been full of popularity for me (at least not the good kind), or even socialness, but I had friends and I did occassionally do stuff with them. It just took a while for me to get over primary school.

05. I will never forget: the sort of frantic energy and happiness that ran through me after the opening scene of the first musical I was in - Oliver. We'd just finished the opening song, I'd just performed an award-winning acting solo (I conducted the rest of Fagin's Lost Boys, to mix lit, in song), and the audience was going wild with applause. At least, it seemed that way to me from on stage. I was smiling so hard it hurt. I was in Year 8 at the time.

06. I once saw: a boy in an elevator; I don't think I'll forget that one, either.

07. There’s this girl I know: who's crazy. Completely and utterly. And I wouldn't have her any other way. <3

08. Once, at a bar: a guy asked me for the time. He was ordering a drink, and the bartender had no idea what it was. I showed him my watch; didn't say a word to him. What I should have done was tell the guy the time using my words, and then ask him what he was drinking. And then buy one myself. And then make out with him. He was wearing eyeliner. He was incredibly cute. He probably wasn't actually flirting with me, but that's not really the point, now, is it?

09. By noon: I try to be awake. Midday is Lunch Time. My dad and I sit down and watch the current midday staple. At the moment, it's Star Trek: Voyager. It used to be TNG. Before that, it was... well, before TNG I think it was Lunch Time for dad and Kate, back when she was in Year 12. They started the tradition with The Pretender. I joined them when I could during the holidays, but it was Their Time. Now it's Our Time. I think that means I win. (Or that I earnt me my hand-me-downs.)

10. Last night: I dreamt strange things. See my last post. But fucking woot for finally having a dream in which I've got some power. My flight may be common, but I've not had telekinesis before. At least, not outside lucid dreams.

11. If only I had: skills. Like numchuck skills, computer-hacking skills... writing skills. I'd really like better writing skills.

12. Next time I go to church: I will burst into flames. YAY! *closet pyro*

13. What worries me most: failure. Loneliness. Failure.

14. When I turn my head left I see: lots and lots of crap. Also books. Also my Crazy Critter from Year 10 Art. Also my little Light-Bearer artwork that Cyn bought me at the markets a couple of months ago. And a bag full of my parents bed clothes. Because apparently my bedroom is the household's Storage Dump.

15. When I turn my head right I see: a wall. YAY!

16. You know I’m lying when: I speak. Nah, I don't lie that often. My sister is pretty damn good at telling when I'm lying, or avoiding the truth. Which I hate because she always thinks she knows everything... which she sort of does. Which is really what I hate. Where "am jealous of" is actually more accurate than "hate".

17. What I miss most about the '80s is: being born. Seriously, why did I stop doing that? It was fun!

18. If I were a character in Shakespeare, I’d be: able to tell you the names of people in Shakespearean plays. Sadly, I don't know that many of his works, let alone the know the characters well enough to identify with any of them. Anyone want to suggest a character?

19. I have a hard time understanding: intollerance.

20. If I ever go back to school: um, I keep getting told that uni doesn't count as school, so... I guess my answer is "I'll be a teacher. Or a parent."
