(no subject)
Ok, so today wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be.
For all those of you who didn't know, today I had lunch with my mother's side of the family. Last time we got together, it was really awkward - my brother and I pretty muh just sat there in the restaurant and spoke to each other instead of talking to the cousins we rarely see.
Can anyone say AWKWARD!?
That, and there are a couple of not-so-pretty veins that run deep through that side of my family, if you get what I mean. So I really was expecting today to be the worst. Thankfully, it wasn't. In fact, it was probably the best time I have ever spent at my cousin's house. There was no psychotic mothering, not too much screaming from the littlies, and the eon-old rift between an uncle and his first wife was seemingly (at least temporarily) soldered shut.
Today was good.
