Broken into two posts for ease of reading

Just a quick update to let you guys know what’s going on…
5:00pm, Saturday
Today, one of my cousins got married. Yesterday I went shopping to get a new shirt and tie, and ended up getting a spiffy new belt too. [livejournal.com profile] dawn_of_buffy would be proud of me for choosing a green shirt and a green tie with shiny green and purple squares on it. And the belt is… well, matt black and pretty silver buckleness (as opposed to the belt I used for school which was a little shiny and bleh gold buckleness).

Anyway, my cousin got married today at 1:30ish and then there is the reception at 5:30. The wedding was in Burwood, and the reception is going to be in The Imax’s function room or something… which sounds odd, but hopefully it’ll be good.

The wedding was really nice, actually – during the ceremony I got this feeling that the marriage was going to be a good one. There was just this sense of goodness, purity and… well, Whiteness, I guess… I don’t know how else to describe it.

After the reception, my sister and I will be going to our friend’s 21st. We both used to work with this girl until she just stopped getting shifts… then after my sister left, this girl came back for a few weeks while she went job hunting and having interviews and such. She left just before the holidays or just after (I can’t remember which), and I don’t think we ever actually RSVPed, but after her last shift we drove her home and told her that we’d be there if we can.

Also, a girl I know from Uni is apparently really good friends with my ex-work-friend whose 21st it is, and she’s going to be there. It’ll be rather odd, but cool.

Unfortunately, the party is Pink Themed, and I don’t have anything pink to wear. Oh well, it’s too late to go out now. At least if we go straight from the reception I’ll still have my green and purple tie, which gains a silvery quality in certain lights. Hopefully it’ll be enough to fool people into thinking it’s pink… yeah, right!

Anyway, we’re just about to leave for the reception now (yeah, I’ve noticed that I’m posting this a lot later than now… *thinks* yeah… but I’m not able to post it atm, so I’ll post it once we’re back or maybe tomorrow), so I should leave it at that and go.

I really don’t like family functions… especially weddings – people expect you to be sociable and, at weddings, dance… *shudders*. So not my style.

Your shirt and tie sound fantabulous. I hope you got pictures =P

They are fabulous, but I didn't get pictures of me unfortunately... my sister's camera died at the church... oh, but apparently she got a big group one of our table with the bride and groom...I'm next to my cuz and I'm not wearing my jacket, so the shirt will be visible in all its glory.

(I haven't seen the pic yet, but I'm assuming it isn't blurry)
