i'm dreadful with compliments too... but apparently because i'm too arrogant. :p i don't see the point in pretending i think i'm hideous, just to salvage other people's egos. nor to i think i've somehow achieved something by looking nice, and because i'm not waiting for compliments i'm never ready with a nice gracious response. it's usually
person: you look nice in that dress
me: *grin* oh, do i?

this makes my mother very frustrated with me.
