the disturbing thing about crushing on adela isn't that she's from the 11th century, or any of that. it's that i now have the same medieval crush as my lecturer, who is decidedly on the senior side! somehow, sharing a medieval crush with your lecturer seems wronger than having a crush *on* your lecturer
