I have finally got all of my preferences in order and only have to call up the UAC people. I know, it has taken waaaay too long to do this - I have already missed out on setting up an audition for one of the Universities I was goig to look at and I think that I will have to pay a $92 late-fee for an audition at the Con seeing as I have to hand something in to them directly by Friday and my parents leave tomorrow morning around 6.
However, that isn't what this post is about.
Some of you will know this, some of you don't (mainly because I didn't know how to bring it up with you), but I am thinking that Southern Cross University, Lismore Campus, is going to be the best opportunity for me and my tertiary study (though the Con is sitll first preference, I'm just thinking realisticly). The only problem with SCU is that it is on the Lismore Campus - an 8 hour drive away from here, or something like that, though probably slightly quicker by train ... or plane/chartered helicopter. This means that I would have to live up there if I get in, which means not only a lot of extra costs like food and, well, accommodation, but that I won't be able to be near my family, friends, and loved one.
If I do get in there, I will have to move away, and that means extra costs, and that means I would need extra money. In this case, I would probably defer for a year and spend it working my arse off (probably somewhere with better pay like Telstra), learning to drive and having singing/musical theory lessons as often as I can to keep me in touch with what I am "about" to study. This "financial freedom" will make it hard for me to get into such tight times (it is a four year course after all) and the overload of family and friends during that year won't make it any easier...
If anyone has any thoughts on this at all, please just tell me, even if it is to tell me that I shouldn't go...
