phrasemuffin: Bare: A Pop Opera (never meant)

To compensate for the sheer length of my last post, I'll try to be a little more brief. But you know how I get when I write :P I was actually going to go with dot points, but thought someone would get the wrong impression

Saturday night went well. Amy's 21st was good, despite lots of people not showing up. Faye (a.k.a Nana Faye to those in the inner circle) and I were the only work people to really go - Vivian had something come up at the last minute and couldn't come, and Kelly had already agreed to go to someone else's 21st (despite not really liking this other friend, everyone else bailed on her, so Kely felt extra obligated to go) though she did get there a little while after I had to leave. I got to meet some of Amy's friends, which was cool, and can now associate a face to Kelly's almost-stalker as well as the group's whorey one. Such a pleasant night. I just wish Kelly had gotten there earlier, or that my ride hadn't decided to come early, because apparently Amy and Kelly had decided they were going to get me drunk. Meh. I got lots of hugs when leaving from one girl when leaving... apparently we're Best Friends now?

Sunday. Hell. No hangover or anything, but had to put up with the new Her at work. I know, I know - give her a chance blahdy blah blah. It's just frustrating when nothing you do seems to get through. *obligatory grumbles*

Monday was ok. Woke up about 11:00 (and found that I had a missed call from an unknown number :S), and all I had was my second-last singing lesson - I only have one more!! I didn't go last week because it would have been right after my exam, and my teacher gave me the day off, telling me I should call her afterwards to let her know how it went and to organise a makeup lesson. My phone was dead and some melodrama happened, and I forgot to ring, so I now have a lesson next week even though this week was supposed to be her last week of teaching. And by "last week of teaching" I mean LAST week of teaching. She told me she won't be teaching next year, so I'll have to get a new teacher... I also still have to tell my parents about that :S

Today was good. Woke up about midday, watched a bit of Desperate Housewives and was called again by the unknown number. This time, I answered. The call was to tel me I was a runner up in an X-Men competition I had entered a while ago. GO ME!! I didn't get the big prize (which is fine, 'cause I don't remember what it was), but I got a free copy of the trilogy on DVDs. w00t!ness.

After that, I scooted to work for another delightful shift with Amy, only to find that Head Office people were there inspecting the store. We don't like these people, this "Brian" and this "Ingrid". My boss feels they have a personal grudge against him, when really he just has no clue what he's doing or how to run the business. We feel that they are just sad little monkeys deprived of love at a young age. "Ingrid" only smiles while smiting people, and "Brian" wears shorts *shudder*... well, remember the meeting we had with them after work a couple weeks back with drinks before hand? During that meeting, he kept touching himself, and kept sliding closer and closer to Kelly. Dude, you have the apparent IQ of a toadstool, you are "inappropriate" to say the least, and you are almost double Kelly's age. What is wrong with you?

"Brian" and "Ingrid" will be back in January to finish their assessment (WTF!WHY?) and hopefully will then be out of our lives until I leave. We can only pray.

Walked home with Amy and Sara (her roommate) and had many a good conversation, mostly about Amy's friends and my impressions of them at her 21st. From that, and conversations during work, I have come to the concludion that my Gaydar needs much tuning, maybe even replacing.

This makes me sad :( for more than one reason
