Narrator's Voice Over - At the beginning of the last episode, we saw Tok'Kir in a coma, and beng moved on to the daybed. However, what we didn't see (or show you) was the interior of Tok'Kir's mind - what he was seeing. This is what we will see in this episode.
Fade to StreetScape
Narrator's Voice Over - this is the city of Pathos, where The Pathetic Headquarters are located.
slow zoom into an irregularly shaped appartment block. there is a bluey-pink man standing by the window. quick slide to ground level, looking at a door. Door opens and we race up along the stairs onto the twelfth floor, Moulin Rouge style. The door is already open, revealing the interior of 12-B, some Pathetic Employees, and a slumped over victim blocking the door from closing. it is a shabby room, with two doors - one to a bedroom with ensuite and one towards a kitchen, which moves on to a small room marked "The Great Pathetic".
but that room isnt important yet. for now, we still only see the living room, the main room with the daybed, three soft chairs like beanbags, and a coffee table in the shape of a coffee mug, complete with creme and sugar. there are only a handful of candles to light the room, and the walls are a dark navy tone, so the entire appartment is in constant halflight
sounds waver into existence, or at least into Tok'kir's head (Tok'kir is the slumped victim in the doorway)
"well we cant' just leave him there" hydeist_ exclaimed. hydeist_ always was the one to care about how people lying on the floor would feel. other than for them, he really didnt care so much
"we won't be able to close the door"
"oh yeah, i forgot, the Moogles are supposed to be doing a building search for illegal weapons and myserious artifacts - i really will never understand how they can bring a full grown Ti Beast to the ground, but they can't open a locked door." Moogles, for those of you who don't know (and this includes everyone out there - they aren't form Final Fantasy these ones, though they are fairly similar) are little angel-puffs of whispy smoke and fur. they wear a bandolier that holds a long sword, a dagger and one magicked item. this last item was usually a bell (whose magic lay in its sound) or a rock (whose magic lay in its accuracy and weight). however, most of the searcher Moogles that ran through this part of town would wear a magicked long sword, a magicked dagger and a magicked flute (for sleeping spells). Oh, how may times d_vinci and hydeist_ had been caught with mysterious artifacts from missions to exotic lands given to them as rewards for their good service, only to have them taken away the next morning.
if only one of them could remember to lock that door ...
d_vinci was most upset at this remembered factoid, about the searh not their power, as it meant that, inevitably, it would be he that would have to move the slumped over victim. d_vinci never really wanted to do too much work, especially with his Pathetic Powers, as he thought it may over stress his body or his mind.
"fine, here goes nothing" d_vinci used his Pathetic Power of telekinesis to slowly bob the limp
Tok'kir over to a nicely moulded shamble of green and yellow mats and blue and red rugs that the Pathetic employees used as a day-bed
"nice work there, d_vinci" hydeist_ heckled "bit out of practice are we?"
d_vinci had wavered and bobbed Tok'kir onto the pile alright, but he hadn't quite landed him properly
so he was dropped, on his wound
"aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh" Tok'kir screamed, and fell straight back into his slumber
"hhmm, we'd better get GP to heal him pretty quickly - he's leaking all over the day-bed"
as d_vinci and hydeist_ move away from the daybed and towards the office door of the Great Pathetic, the camera begins to follow slowly, but returns to the sight of the comatose Tok'kir. slowly, slowly, the camera moves towards the man's face
fade to black
the camera can only see black inky mist, but a moon is painfully revealed. however, we notice that there is only one moon - obviously this is not the city of Pathos or it world, which has three large blue moons and a small green one. we see rings slowly moving around the camera, as if the camera is inside three concentric circles of steal rotating about their common center on three different axis. the rings fade with each pass and are eventually no longer there. a small boy steps away from the camera and we turn to face him - it is the young Tok'kir, and we realise that the young boy is roughly the age described to us by Goober in Part 1 of this episode, the age he was when the fateful experiment went wrong and trapped this boy in another dimension
"where am i?"
"You are in the land of The Free People Of The Isontic Plains" a tall, dark man said as he stepped out from the mist
"aka Isontis" the man laughed a great bellied laugh though the biy stood confused
"um, but ...?"
"dw my boy, you are safe. for we here in Isontis worship travelers from other plains, especially those who have mastered the Magiks"
"but, i didnt do that" the boy exclaimed "it was an accident - i don't even know what happened"
"ah, but we do. we can teach you our limited knowledge of the Magiks. that is, if you agree to help us." the man looked suddenly very seriously and gravely at young Tok'kir
"will it help me get back home?"
"from what i saw you just do, from how i am guessing you arrived here, by the Anchoric Rings Of Ith, it should"
"but, how can i help you? i dont't really know that much about anything, even though my father did try to teach me EVERYTHING about uber physics ... i just don't see how i can really be that helpful"
"dw about how you can help, merely being willing to help helps us in our cause. You see ... " the tall dark man led Tok'kir to a small hut hidden in the mist. in the way, the man explained of how a terrible threat had been realised in their world, though it came from another. it was a threat that had called itself
Fallopia Inc. led by the Ovis itself - half male, half female, half gay, half straight, half bisexual. the thing with too many halves, and it wanted more.
Ovis wanted to control everything - not just his own world, but her entire universe. but not only her universe, every other dimension he could find. It wanted to be supreme ruler, and it already controlled 5 dimensions. by the time the tall dark man (whose name was Othor) had finished explaining the threat to Tok'kir and they had finished a meal together, the Ovis had conquered three more dimensions. these first 8 dimensions only had a handful of intelligent beings, so they were easy to conquer, good for mining, but not that good for an army. Ovis wanted more and more.
time passes
"so, when are we going to start working on getting me home? And am i gonna start learnng about the Magicks soon? and who is this we you keep mentioning? i've been here for almost a month now, and i haven't seen a single soul other than us two" Tok'kir was confused, and could keep his questions quiet no more.
"but everyday you see hundreds of souls. just look out that window"
Tok'kir did as he was told. he looked out but could only see the same inky black mist as before.
"and?"
"and ... what do you see?"
"mist, endless whisps of mist"
"look closer"
he did. and noticed for the first time that each whisp had a vague outling, darker than the rest of it, that separated it from the other whisps.
"are you trying to tell me that they are souls?"
"bingo" Othor said "now you are ready to learn"
camera zooms out of the hut's door and into the mist. the moon is till high as "it always is in Isontis" according to Othor. to convey passing time, the camera sweeps around the outside of the hut and each time it passes a window, Tok'kir looks older (Othor stays the same age) and is obviously studying the Magicks' theories. camera stops the swirling round the hut and sweeps to the "garden" where a 20-something year old Tok'kir is learning practical Magicks now; combat training, transport and communication. Scene changes (though they stay in the garden) show dfferent practical applications - the last of which is the Anchoric Rings of Ith.
"you are now ready to try the Rings" Othor said, trying to contain his excitement.
"okay - here goes nothing" his arms outstretched, Tok'kir attempts to summon the rings. slowly, they appear, and seem to surround a figure - it is Goober
"OMGosh, Goober" Tok'kir almost falls under the stress of keeping the Rings up and seeing his long lost friend.
"concentrate boy!"
the Rings fail and Goober's form goes away
"NO"
Tok'kir tries again, but the Rings don't even appear as last time.
"Tok'kir, You must rest now. try again tomorrow"
"mmm" Tok'kir slumps and almost falls asleep where he is standing
As Tok'kir and Othor walk back to the hut, there is a sudden up roar of wind, which is unusual in this place where the moon is forever and the calmness reigns supreme. Othor and Tok'kir turn around. they see a whirling mass of inky black mist being ushed away as a set of Anchor Rings materialise in a swirling mass. Again there is a figure in the centre. Again, it is Goober. the Rings slow and fade, but this time, Goober stays in this realm and he rushes over to hug Tok'kir
"it has been too long brother"
"it has"
the next day, Tok'kir and Goober return to their rightful dimension. but before they go, a worried Othor hands Tok'kir a small orb. it glows green as it touches Tok'kir's skin.
"this message was given me by one of the souls on the Plains last night, after you fell asleep. I am sorry"
the orb begins to glow brighter until it it becomes like buble of light. in the bubble, Tok'kir can see Cloe, a little boy, and a llama - Cloe's greatest fear. a small fuzzy creature jumps out of Cloe's purse, it is the Evil Snow, but it is too late to help Cloe - it doesn't have enough time to grow big and strong, into its Warrior form. Evil Snow jumps out and tries to stop the llama from attacking Cloe, but it is useless. the Llama, aka Aless, is too strong for the small evil snow, and pushes it away. Aless attacks and Cloe is so scared that she falls into the Yellow with her son.
"GOOBER. THE RINGS. NOW!! WE MUST GET BACK TO SAVE CLOE!!"
TO BE CONTINUED
please tell me if this format is better - it is slightly screwed up though because i split it into two sessions, last night doing LJ comments, MSN etc, and this morning doing breakfast, LJ comments, hunger and sleepyness, not to mention the study i should be doing.
Oh Well! :|
