my responses are generally either "oh... thanks..." while secretly wondering "... whyyyyyyyy?", or "oh, well... I do what I can" if it's more of a "you did __ well" thing.
Notice that there's always an "oh" of surprise.
My summer is going well, and I hope yours is too.
