Last night, I was insipired.

By RENT.

By The West Wing.

And by Douglas Adams.

Thanks to this, I now have a new pet: [livejournal.com profile] goblinpaladin. *waves*

And fear not; I will eventually get around to composing that interpretive dance, to be accompanied by a solo finger cymbal (yes yes, not a pair), in your honor. And it shall be magnificent.

In other news, I have been neglecting to tell you all of the Saga of the Television. Months ago, during that big big lightning storm, our television blew a fuse and had been on the fritz since. It would randomly switch itself off, and the AV ports were fried (so no DVDs!!). Last week, dad sent it in to get repaired. We got it back Friday, but the AV ports are still half dead (it's certainly not one of those more advanced forms of death, though) - DVDs will play, but with the previous channel's audio. And the little transmitter thingy that was to allow us to watch Foxtel on the other side of the room (the cords wouldn't reach after we re-arranger everything) wouldn't work at all. So we've sent it back in to get repaired, and properly this time.

I hope my laptop comes back before the television does. I would seriously appreciate using my OWN computer after a week of being a parasite on everyone else's. And swapping hard drives around is just painful. :(

Oh oh OH! And I think Hot Cute Guy, the Ashfield Hotel Bartender that Kurtis embarrassed me in front of... twice, goes to USYD. At least, I hope it was him... :S

;)

that may take a little while longer... um, you know, what with the poor lighting in this place... ahem

hehe.

you two amuse me.

Dominus, huh? moved on to *12th century* flirting, have you?

From: [identity profile] goblinpaladin.livejournal.com

Twelfth century, nothing. We're talking golden age flirting here. Three cheers for Classical Latin!

...no?

From: [identity profile] highlyeccentric.livejournal.com

maybe late 11th... but it was definitely part of the complex codes of secrecy which surrounded early courtly love poetry. there were complex (and utterly pointless, since so well regularised) systems for pretending no one knew whom you were talking about.
one of them was to address the lady as "domina", or at times "dominus". "cousin" was also popular, but then everyone *was* everyone else's cousin at that time!

From: [identity profile] phrasemuffin.livejournal.com

heh, and here I was thinking that dominus meant owner/master/lord. I had no idea there was smut being generated on my journal. Whoopee!

But... I thought I was FlirtMan!

My identity! It has shattered, like the brittle mask it was. Oh! Woe is me. *damsel-hand*

Only with highly valuable people.

Er, you.

And, now, him.

This is out of character for me!

From: [identity profile] highlyeccentric.livejournal.com

i don't belive it. i think you've always been like this, and the pretending you haven't is some kind of plot.

From: [identity profile] goblinpaladin.livejournal.com

It is a complex plan of seduction and betrayal I have afoot. Sssh. Don't tell anyone.

From: [identity profile] goblinpaladin.livejournal.com

Oh no! I have been caught! I must escape, using only a swiss-army-knife and my wits. Also my good looks and charm.

From: [identity profile] phrasemuffin.livejournal.com

A Mcgiver In Training, are we?

Good looks and charm, in the right hands, will get you anything.

From: [identity profile] phrasemuffin.livejournal.com

Hmmm, there is a certain dastardlyness to it all, isn't there?

I think this plot may also somehow involve world domination. Or just, you know, the regular kind.

From: [identity profile] highlyeccentric.livejournal.com

and then you have all that 12th stuff i keep going on about, when people are writing highly suggestive latin poetry to each other all in the name of Christian friendship...

From: [identity profile] phrasemuffin.livejournal.com

you know, with what Amy said in mind, mingling with my original understanding of dominus, I can't help but think that my first reply just makes it sound like I live on a porn set.
