i have a chem tutorial tomorrow morning and an in-class english assessment task , so i shant be long here, i just wanted to bitch about the stupid people who were supposed to be repairing my laptop recently.
as some of you know, my laptop commited suicide some weekends ago, deciding it couldnt be fucked enough to find the fucking hard drive. so we sent it in to be repaired after my mum and dad convinced me buying a new one would be an adverse reaction - way over the top when it can probably be fixed for half the price.
so, we sent it in with a report saying that it couldn't locate the hard drive and that we couldn't go into bios mode or anything (i'm not a computer person but my dad is, so at least one of us knew what was going on ... a little). also, there was something wrong with the little battery that keeps time when not plugged in or turned on (my dad figured this out with beeps - *?*). so we had a report and handed it in. it took a week for them to even look at it. i realise there are other customers, but a week for a laptop that has a report of the problems? blimey, even procrastination has its limits. anway, a week to look at it, but they start on a friday, so they have to keep it over the weekend to continue diagnosing.
second week in now, and still they havent called - my dad had to call them every few days coz i was nagging him, most usually to a no we havent looked at it yet. then, wednesday they say they have found a problem with the screen, should we fix it? we say fix it. $165. the little battery is dead, replace? replace. $110. we'll do this at the end all together.
then, nothing .... yesterday - there seems to be a problem locating the hard drive ... ... ... OF COURSE THERE IS YOU FUCKING DICK HEADS!!!. should we look into it? yes. it is the mother board - she's fried. fix it? hmm. wait. um. should we? that would take repair costs to around $8-900 (note - they havent fixed anything by this stage so we can tell them to not repair the other two). either this or, as i have said all along, buy a new laptop.
what did my dad and i do this arvo? ordered a $1360 laptop. 1 yr warranty. Windows XP Pro. much batter than the original laptop. my dad is chipping in with the cost - he says he will pay the amount i would have to pay for the same model if i pay for the rest. the same model is worth ~$850, so i am paying ~$510.
