i haven't been in a musical for ages - my last musical was Footloose last year (heaps of fun even though i had a mental breakdown one night on my way home - not pretty for a 16 year old guy). there is of course this one that i just auditioned for but i don't think i got a part in it. Footloose was with a musical society so i didn't expect a role (nor did i want one really with all those more seasoned actors around), but the latest one is a school "written and performed" one and seeing as we are in year 12, we are supposed to get first priority for lead roles. but who do they go to? all bar one so far have gone to the year 11 drama class - poo.
the only person in year 12 that i know of who has a lead role (though it is all still unofficial) went for the drama teacher at this boarding school. he is supposed to be a very flambouyant (speeling? who cares) and physically expressive person who finds himself quite witty. the year 12 guy who went for it read this as "this guy is gay" and went with it. there was a lisp and all the hand movements (something about right angles to the body) that go with the stereotypical and cliched homosexual.
but what else was he to do?
it was a good audition too ... very good ... scarily so
but it was in no way offensive to the gay community as far as i could see, not that having gay friends makes me an expert or anything. but the thing is, he was asked to lose the lisp, most likely for the connotations it imbuged.
well, there it is - my first post for a bit over two weeks. i hope you didn't miss me
there may even be another episode of the pathetic race on its way, and seeing as the flashback is over it may just be the start of the battle soon. i just don't know if i can write it if i am going to write it in the same format as the last one, "Are You Awake part 2". it was a hell of a lot longer than the original format, but my friends liked it, but i need to time to write that much, but it is more detailed, but should be doing work (it is HSC year after all), but ..........
curse this evil HSC
leaveth me alone
i do not wish to partake in thee
i'd rather brake my bones
nice thoughts i have, aren't they?

i just really don't want to do my HSC this year - it is so unfair that the rest of my life will be based on how well i know seven subjects. they will determine what jobs i can get, how much money i can make, how happy i will be for the rest of my life
hence, i would rather brake all my bones and have more time to do the HSC than go through it now - i am just not concentrating well at the moment and i fear it will stay like this for a while
