so, my week:

Monday... blahful.

Tuesday, I worked. Had much fun with Amy.
Favourite quote of the day:Eeew - I'm covered in other people's juices!! (from when I flicked open a garbage liner, a bag of which are kept under the sink out the bag, and are continually wet), after Red Bull had taken affect. Damn that stuff makes me laugh...
Most disgusting moment: When a seemingly perpetually-angry little [5 year old?] kid, accompanied by his boganfull parents, was permitted to try our Pane de Casa taste tester. The bread alone would have been fine, but he whinged and whined until his parents allowed him to try the olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing provided, which, though a pain in itself, was still not the problem. As soon as the bread touched his tongue, his face contorted into this ugly little expression of disgust, and he proceeded to spit the stuff out onto the floor of the Mall. Now, sure, he's a kid, but his parents weren't (though admittedly boganfull) and they said nothing. They even allowed him to try the olive oil, garlic and herbs dressing, again after much whining and whining. And, lo and behold, he did it again. *goes and stabs someone*
Favourite moments: involved Amy's boyfriend visiting us several times, and once we had closed, being invited into the store. It was probably a little boring for him, waiting for us while we scurried around cleaning things, but we had fun. 'Twas nice that he came by.
Oddness: During Red Bull, cheek/jaw muscles cramped at laughter - much pain, but in a chemically-induced happiness kinda way. After the Red Bull, the end of my left pinky finger was tingling, as well as the adjacent half of my left ring finger, and the tingling seemed to bridge the gap between fingers - i.e. increased tingling in pinky by way of pressing/pulling/flicking said finger coresponded with increased tingling in ring finger, without external stimulants.

Wednesday, I worked again, despite saying I would only work one week-day a week.
Reason: Vivian cut her finger on the slicer. Guilt-tripping was involved on my boss's part, suggesting that he could call Faye (a.k.a. Nana Faye, whom we all love as our very own grandmother, the name coming from the fact that she doesn't have grandkids of her own... so she kind of adopted us all?) instead. Faye would have done it, because there would have been no one else seeing as our boss hasn't bothered to employ any afternoon people post staff-walkouts, and I couldn't do that to her. So I went in, saying I'd be there in about a half hour.
Hate of the day: Boss, for several reasons. 1 - for telling Amy I would be there in 15mins, when I clearly said half an hour. 2 - for leaving Amy alone for 45minutes while he took Vivian home ('cause it took a little longer for me to get there than I thought - I had to clean my uniform, shave (you'd be surprised at how narky Head Office is getting about the rules, and they state that all male staff members must be clean-shaven) and then walk up. 3 - for deciding to leave, after staying there for an extra 2 or 3 hours pointlessly, and for deciding to not come back for the money when he could have left at 2pm and made the return trip worthwhile. 4 - only taking Vivian home because it was on his way. 5 - I'm sure there was something else, but for the moment it eludes me :(
Good things: more Red Bull, and Less-Liquid-Panadol-Tasting Red Bull at that. An extra 2.5 hours pay (even though the minimum shift length allowed is 3 hours... old boss probably would have paid for the extra 30mins, new boss won't know he is supposed to). Much fun with Amy, including more dirty jokes and the like. Yay.

Thursday saw me falling asleep in Fisher Library, level four, in the Research section, far left corner, during two hour break between 1pm and 3pm. Those study seats are surpisingly comfy when you are that sleep deprived.
And I think I'll be doing that again this coming Thursday.
Cute Boy alert: Though he isn't the same one I was talking about in a previous post, there is a cute guy in my Linguistics tutorial. Obviously emo - emo hair, multiple purple shirts/jumpers, lots of stripey things... plus he had an actual Care Bear back pack (as in, in the shape of a care bare!!) a couple of lectures ago. Aaaaand, we all know that the emo-male is supposed to be bisexual by nature (according to the educational film entitled "How To Be Emo" - I suggest you google that now) so yay :)
Assignment Meter: Two for linguistics - one due on Monday (that I started today), and one due next Monday. Haven't looked at the second one, but the first is to compare Australian and American English in terms of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and words. Uh ohs.
Oddness: Last week, after my first lecture, during my first hour break, I randomly saw Alex (good friend from Education Seminar group last semester), and we then met up with a couple of other friends from the same class - Sharin and Shane. This week, while I took a different path to get from Lecture to Library (though, both weeks, I have no idea why I was going to the library seeing as my next lecture was in Bosch, which is on the other side of the campus in the opposite direction), I still managed to bump into Alex. Apparently, we were both thinking we should be going in a different direction, or be on a different road, to meet up when we did in fact meet. How odd, but socially handy, that we are both subconsciously aware of the other's exact position on campus (because obviously it couldn't just be a coincidence). We then met up with Sharin again, sat around talking, and made our way to class.

Today, it rained.
I mean, obviously it didn't rain, that'd just be crazy. What it did was more in the class of storm. And I had to walk through it, from home to the station (a 20 minute walk), rainging so heavily that I probably could have gone without the umbrella and still have been just about as soaked. It's so much fun standing on the train in sopping clothes, then sitting in a waiting room for 15minutes making everything aroud you wet, and then wetting the orthodontist's chair for the next person, before having to walk back through the rain once more.
:(
Oddities of the Day: while walking to the station, there was a woman with a rainbow umbrella who was watching me as I passed, barely concealing a smile. Don't know what it was about, but yeah. She was at least in mid-late twenties, if not early thirties. Then there was a guy at the station, who I at first thought was a guy from school in an older year, but then the more I looked, the older he seemed. I first noticed him as he left the platform I was getting onto, but then he came back down the stairs and waited near me. Not only that, but he got on my train, and got off at my station, and we both took the elevator down to the concourse (though there are stairs). Everytime I casually glanced over in his direction, he was looking at me. We both smiled a couple of times, an almost amused smile because we were really both loking at each other, and not in the direction our eyes flitted to to avoid the other noticing that we were looking at them. I kind of lost him at the concourse, and though I was looking around for him, I had to leave for my appointment.
Again, :(

damn, wasn't the rain impressive? i was working on the registers, and it was like a solid wall of water falling on george street...

and beware of falling asleep in Stack. i swear the oxygen level up there is significantly too low. i know several people who go up there thinking they're going to work, only to fall asleep/pass hour for hours on end. :s

I didn't go up that far... I don't think - I could have just been so deprived of sleep that I didn't realise what floor I was on, but I don't think I went up that far. And I was only asleep for a half hour at a time, though I didn't even mean to be there that long :S

the Research library is stack... and although it's worse at the top, i reckon you'd suffocate even on ground floor. you're breathing pure book!

see? case and point! I was so dazed and confused by the lack of sleep and oxygen that I forgot where I was, and what it was named.

Falling asleep at work? Hahaha, fun. But that's a long break.

lol
I didn't fall asleep at work, though I wish I had (it's such boring!ness these days). It was at Uni, and I found out that I could have had a mere 1 hour break had they not overcrowded the tutorial before mine :( The only other free one that I could move to is on Friday at 11 I think, but I don't have anything else on Fridays, so I'd only be going in for that. And that, my friend, is not going to happen.
