I love getting my haircut (once I'm finally there). I especially love the part where I get to watch as I lose 3-inches off my height (I usually wait far too long before I get my hair cut :P), where at each stage I have a slightly different style going on. I love how just taking off a little bit here and little bit there, and then brushing it to the other side/forward/back (depending on where Barber is standing/cutting) can make you look like a completely different people. Last Friday, I'm certain there were 12 or so other people getting their hair cut, in the same seat as me and at the same time.

Alas, I need your help, Oh Interneters of Greatness. I am going to a 21st Bday Partay this Saturday night, and the dresscode is "cocktail". I, however, have no idea what that means, and there is little chance that I'll see the Bday girl beforehand to ask in person. That, and I'm really hoping to go shopping after Uni today (though I finish at 4 D:, so I may not have lot's of time, seeing as I have to think of, and aquire, a present as well). So, I am asking you, Oh Faithful Ones. Now, I'm going to be relying mainly on "all" my non-Australian-timezone peeps to help me out here and hopefully respond within the next 8 hours (when I'm due to wake up), but anyone who has decided to foresake sleep, or sees this early tomorrow morning, is more than welcome to respond and help out.

Thanks in advance people =D

According to about.com

Q. What is Cocktail Attire?
From Cynthia Nellis,

A.

Cocktail attire technically means a suit for men, and a cocktail dress for women, which usually means a short dress (preferably not career wear). I prefer a little black dress -- and depending how formal you think the event is, you can glam it up with accessories. Of course you have lots of leniency in what you wear -- a dressy pantsuit, a lovely skirt and top, etc. Everyone interprets the meaning of dress requests differently.

Hope everything works out well for you!! Have fun ^__^

Thanks El. And sorry about posting and running last night/this morning. As it was, I still didn't get enough sleep and nearly missed my first lecture because I couldn't get out of bed. But I must say I do greatly appreciate the reply, and it has helped. I've decided to go for dress pants/suit pants and a black/brown stripe dress shirt. And I know, I know - every time we go shopping I say I don't like tops with stripes, but these stripes are vertical, not horizontal, so that makes everything better =D

Thanks again, and I'll try to have fun but I can't promise anything... there are some socially-awkward butterflies in my stomach, but it should all be ok. I just wish I knew more people who were going :S
