This past week has been pretty crazy, so please do excuse any lack of commenting on my part. I do still care, I just haven't had much time until today.

For those of you who didn't know, last year I applied for a Bachelor of Music Eduaction course at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, but things got out of hand and I lost track of what I was supposed to be doing. I didn't end up finding the exact details of the audition process until about a week before the date, and learning a complete German song in that time was not going to happen - I've only ever sung one song in German, and that was last Monday. Needless to say, I ended up not going.

This year, things were different. I got online a lot earlier and figured out all I had to do, who I had to speak to, and what I had to send off. Though I'm not certain my UAC application got through properly, I'm pretty sure everything must have gone okay because I did get an audition, set for Monday 27th november.

Since about September, I've been practicing four songs, each chosen according to particular requirements by the Con. But, at the end of last week, I realised I really had to pull my finger out and start practicing even more for my audition on Monday. There was a lot of last minute prep work done (though I wasn't the only one, as I found out on Monday), and a couple of forms I had to get ready - some take-home questions as prep for the post-audtion interview, a resume, references and "any other supporting material relevant to your application". I got my school's reference on Thursday, and had taken in one my English teacher emailed me last year to get it signed but she wasn't there. It turned out that everything she had written was in the school's reference anyway, so no loss there.

Friday morning, I tweaked my resume so that it was University Music oriented, not employment oriented, and pretty much spent the whole day out in our garage singing. (The garage is the only place I can go without fear of being heard/distracting my dad, who works from home).

Saturday and Sunday mornings were both spent at work, where I was again training newbies. The girl I had on Saturday is doing really superly awesomely well for a newbie, despite accidentally putting the tills out by nearly $50.

The girl on Sunday, however, is not going so well - her English is not that great, and when she has a problem with things, she doesn't always let me know. A couple of times, this has meant that a customer has been left waiting, halfway through being served, while I go to serve other people, because this girl will either just stand there all glassy-eyed and silent, or move on to another customer. Also, like most of the other new staff we've gotten recently, she sucks at cleaning, which means I've got to do her work for her as well. Now, I don't mind helping her, but I don't like the fact that I'll tel her what needs to be done, she'll respond with an "Ok", and then she'll leave it or do a half-arsed job. Again, without asking for help. *grumbles*

Saturday night, my church had a Youth Mass, so our choir pretty much consisted of our multi-talented Ravilia on keys and vocals, and myself. There were other choir people in the nearby pews supporting us, but they were no where near the microphones, so I don't think they were heard in the body of the church. It was an interesting night, and we had people speaking about the next World Youth Day being held in Sydney... but, really, it just made me even more conscious of how little faith I have in the Church any more.

Sunday afternoon, my mother's side of the family came over for lunch. This meant that, with my sister at work, I took over Kid Patrol, looking after four kids under the age of 7. They were all rather vocal about going up into my room, though they'd already been told they weren't allowed (because kids + ladders = dangerous if they fall and land on the tiles or granite). Issach is soooo adorable, though, despite his... uh, "vocal nature". Actually, all four of them are pretty loud kids. My dad had had enough after an hour or two, but I think he was in charge of them before I got home from work.

Sunday night was a night of rest before my audition, and my parents, my aunty and I just watched Australian Idol. We hadn't seen any of the previous episodes, but seeing as my sister was on, we watched. The only reason we kept watching was because we thought she might come on again, but she was only on once. Oh well.

Monday's audition went well. The interview afterwards was even better - Peter (interviewer) and I got off to a really good start with a really good conversation about why good teachers are the most important part of a good school. I didn't actually end up giving him my reference, my resume or the other supporting material (certificates and such), but I think he didn't ask for them because he found out I was just transfering from a BA to the BMus(Ed). So, yeah... I think that should be ok. I decided not to do the skills test then, but on Friday, so I could be fresh and not so tense from the audition.

Yesterday morning.. didn't do much, but worked with Amy in the afternoon. It's always fun working with Amy, and even better when there's Red Bull invovled XD. Oh, and I tried an Iced Chocolate from Michele's... my goodness, that was good. Amy and I bitched a bit about certain people, both friends and fellow staff members (well, just the second newbie, and nothing harsh just that we're annoyed), and it was just a really good day.

Other than that, I found out during the week that our internet speed is going to increase on Friday. This makes me very happy. Maybe it's karmic reward for putting up with my brother's insane dling, and the recent mishap with the Italian anime... grrrr.

And don't worry, I know I still owe a couple of you some art - highlyeccentric (even though you're kinda on hiatus atm) and mcaries, you're art hasn't been done yet, but now that I'm free, it'll be done and out to you real soon.

In upcoming news, I'm going out with Ellis and a friend of his tomorrow, and have Amy's 21st on Saturday, with the skills test between. Next week... so far, I'm predicting lots of work and me setting up driving lessons. I know I'm delayed, but you can't rush awesomeness.

'Til next time *waves*
