No no, I'm serious.
In other news, I have never been very good with compliments. I just don't see what other people see or hear that they think is so good. If you responded with a "duh, we already knew that", good. That wasn't the "other news".
However, with the onslaught of unexpected positive feedback in the past week or so (especially in the past two days), I don't think I can keep ignoring it. That, friends, is the basis of this post.
At the Christmas party, Faye and Amy were talking (behind my back, I might add) about how handsome I am. Well, Faye said it, and Amy agreed. So did Kelly, when she heard Amy telling me later that night. Then Faye repeated it to me Thursday morning. It was an odd moment.
Though I have to say it was less odd than the moment from this morning. My primary school was having a Mass, and my dad and I werepleaded with asked to play/sing. While setting up, one of the mothers came over and told me she'd just recognised me from work. Well, actually, her daughter recognised me, but that's not important. What is important is that she went on to say something about how handsome I am out of my uniform. WTF?
There was also talk between her and the music teacher/choir mistress about how good a voice I have and how lucky they were to have my dad and I there this morning. And that I should be singing at work. There was other stuff, too, but they were pretty minor things, and along the same lines, so... yeah.
Anyway, in other other news, my legs were killing me at work yesterday. Just randomly at about midday, I had to stop and sit down they were that bad. Luckily I only had two hours left by that stage, and that I was working with Faye, otherwise I would not have been happy. When the first replacement came early, I considered asking if she could just start straight away so I could stop. But then I realised who it was and there was no way she would have.
And finally, I'm considering getting the Wii. Half my flist is either planning to get it or playing it already, and I've been itching to get something for a while now. SNES and Nin64 are old, as are the games I've got for them, and though the want to update doesn't in itself justify the new system, there are many things going for it. Plus, I think it's either that or a desktop PC that I can actually play games on, and that's just a little too extreme for now.

lol. If you haven't seen me yet, you obviously aren't looking hard enough. And I was thinking of maybe doing a voice post soon, with a song included, but... I don't like singing at home when I know others can hear me. My dad works from home, right below my bedroom in fact, so during the day is out. And then people come home, so the arvo/night is out too. The only time I feel comfortable is when everyone has gone to bed, so at about midnight, and then I have to be quiet because of how echo-y my house is.
I guess I could just go out into the garage though... *ponders*
my knees always act up. I think it's from years of sitting contortionistically at school. I never quite got into the swing of chairs ;)
have you tried/do you own/are you coveting it?

Notice that there's always an "oh" of surprise.
My summer is going well, and I hope yours is too.
Thanks for dropping by, and, if you can, do it more often!! :D I know you are suffering from Limited Connectivity at the moment, so it isn't a big deal if you can't, but... I miss your fantabulous Joel Stories. *sobs*
