Christmas party on Friday night went well. Apparently Amy and Kelly had decided about me a lot earlier than Amy had said - one night, they were cleaning up after their shift and Kelly said to Amy "David is so gay", to which Amy replied "uh, yeah!" (not actual quotes there). Dunno if anyone overheard us talking about it, but Faye infront of me at the table, so she probably at least thinks it might be a possibility? I don't care if she knows, I just don't know how she'd take it. I hope she'll still be my faux-nana Faye.
Despite Kelly and Amy trying to convince me otherwise, I didn't get drunk. Amy and Kelly were, but I didn't have enough to drink. Certainly not enough to get up and dance. Ew. Gross. Publicity.
Saturday morning I slept in. Like, seriously. I was still asleep when I was supposed to be at work. I "started" at 7:30 but didn't wake up until 7:35 - for some reason, my alarm didn't go off, and my parents thought I was starting at 10:30? WTF! When do I ever get to sleep on a saturday morning? Thankfully that was the only bad thing to happen yesterday.
However, today, Christmas Eve, did not go well.
1 - Woke up at 6:30 for a 7:00 start <-- first mistake
2 - Was put on with the boss' wife and one of the relative-newbs <-- second mistake because Catherine (wife) had only worked one other shift before, while Bowie is still in training really, and Christmas Eve is the busiest day of the year. So not only is it not the best day to have me in charge, but it's not the best day to not have at Amy, Kelly, or Vivian on.
3 - I was "in charge" <-- third mistake. Because of who I was on with, I was the highest ranking staff member today, having two years more experience than the females and actually being Front staff as opposed to being a baker (Head Baker, Tong, comes out to help when needed). Because it was Christmas Eve, and I was understaffed, and all hell broke loose at some point, several customers who had pre-ordered got screwed over. One of them was my old boss, another was a rather loud, large and frustrated man, and the third was thankfully dealt with with the easiest phone call I've ever had.
And of course, because I was "in charge", it was all my fault. I couldn't complain about being understaffed because Harry called his wife in to work (meaning he wasn't going to pay anyone else to work today despite Amy telling im that she could come in at 6am!!! because we knew she'd be needed) even though Tong had to spend most of the day our-side of the racks. I couldn't complain about them not being good enough for the Christmas Eve load because one of them was Catherine and I can't tell Harry his wife is slow, and I couldn't just blame it all on Bowie. And I couldn't get it through to either Harry or Tong that it was Christmas Eve and that there was no way I could pack all of the orders away (which would have totalled $700-$800 easily) and serve the swarms of customers and clean the store and set up the store and get signs out so everyone would know what everything was and do everything else that needed to be done all at the same time. So I just shut my mouth.
Tong and the other two bakers invited me out drinking with them cuz they didn't get to drink at the xmas party (they had to go straight to work afterwards), along with Amy and maybe others, but that was before the first order-gone-wrong. I think the offer was rescinded once loud, large and frustrated man started to tell Tong off for "I" did.
Amy and Kelly have, however, insisted that I accompany them to Blink this Friday. Blink is a goth club (with swarms of hot goths apparently - yummy!) and they've been wanting me to tag along for a while now, but I've been somewhat reluctant for two reasons - they want me to dance, and I work Saturday mornings. However, seeing as they are doing this to celebrate my birthday, there's no fucking way I'm working on Saturday, so I can get plastered if I want. Which may mean I dance, but I doubt it. Curtis'll be there, and he doesn't dance, so we'll probably talk more about how he decided to get naked with some guy just for the fun of it... yeah, that's Amy's boyfriend for you.
Aaaanyway. That's enough about my last three days. I'll see you all in another two. Until then...
MERRY CHRISTMAS, GUYS!! =D
