Let's see. What's happened in the past two days that I should mention oh yeah I've kinda been half fired.
Well, not so much in the past two days, but that's when I found out about it. Of course, I found out through Amy who called in tears (she was kinda fired too), who was told by Faye, who was told by Harry. And Harry was, of course, told by Catherine, his dominatrix of a wife. Nothing's official yet, though.
Last Sunday, Catherine came in to work early by about an hour. She asked me to take tastings out into the Mall to entice people back to our store, where Catherine could be found doing nothing. I was nothing if not happy to oblige.
I got out there, went as far as I felt comfortable (still within sights of the store so I could see if I was needed), and Dealt. It was pretty quiet though, and the few people that were in the Mall didn't really want anything, so I came back, saying I'd go back out in a little while.
Apparently, as soon as I got back, Catherine went out to her no-pants husband and told him that I'd "defied" her by only going out for a few minutes, and that he was to fire me straight away. This is the sort of shit that Catherine does - impulsive, potentially business-crippling decisions, just because she thinks she's the Queen and High Ruler.
So, how does this translate to "half fired", you ask? Well, I'm the only one who can work Saturday mornings, so I've been kept on, for one shift a week.
Amy, on the other hand, seems to have done nothing wrong, yet she's been reduced to one shift a week. She works and pays bills - that's a pretty big portion of her life at the moment, and she can't afford to only be working one shift a week. Aaaaand Harry knows this. So why is he getting rid of two of the three most experienced workers? Just who is going to be training all these new trainess? And just how long do they think they're going to last with Catherine in the Captain's chair?
