Just about everything I've said about work lately has been negative and hatey. Unfortunately, with Catherine not having left yet, I don't see things changing anytime soon. If it get's any worse, I'm going to have to ask tell Harry not to roster me on with his wife.
Her latest act of Catherineness was something she said to Amy during the week:
Amy: One of my friends applied to work here a little while ago, but she just got a job at Sydney Uni.
Catherine: Oh, Amy. I don't want any of your friends working here. You know what I mean.
If I'd been working that day, I would have slapped that bitch so hard she'd have gotten a free ride home to Hong Kong.
In happier work-related news, we hired Lynn, the guy I was talking about, along with three other sales staff (all female) and a new baker (male). When Amy first saw the new baker, she was compelled to sms Kelly and I straight away and tell us of his hotness. I got to see him first-hand on Sunday, but I think he's too young-looking to be "hot". "Cute", certainly, but not "hot". He's only 17, too, so that doesn't help.
Anyway, worked with/helped trained Lynn on Friday, and he's pretty good. Second shift and he was already pretty good with everything, even not too bad with the till. Pretty much just showed him how to clean and close. Then, on Saturday, I got another trainee to train, and it was her first shift ever. That actually turned out pretty well. At the end of the shift, she thanked me and said everything I'd told her was helpful. That was sweet. No one's ever thanked me for my training of them.probably because I suck
I would mention the business consultant with the balloon fetish that came in on Saturday, but writing about it will give me nightmares.
So let's talk about how I missed out on going out Sunday night. Amy smsed me Sunday arvo, but my phone was died just after work, so I didn't get it then but the next day. Nor did I get the phonecalls. And she doesn't have my home number. So I missed out on meeting Kelly's boyfriend. And on talking to Sara about her new job (she's the one at USYD now). And on drinking. And on just catching up in general.
:(
To cheer myself up, I ordered some shirts online with my new PayPal account! But they'll take 2-4 weeks to get here, so not quite in time for Uni. I'm also thinking about upgrading my LJ account somewhat. I want more Userpics. I'll need to start making some more, of course, but that's half the fun!
Can't wait to get back to Uni, but I need to fix up my timetable. Serious suckdome it is this semester. If that doesn't work, maybe I'll just treat myself to two movies a week during my FIVE HOUR BREAKS!!!
